HBO’s “Euphoria” is set to return for its highly anticipated third season on April 12, and the latest trailer offers a brief (yet revealing) look at where the characters are several years after graduation.
Returning main cast members include Zendaya, Sweeney, Elordi, Schafer, Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Colman Domingo, and Dominic Fike.
In the trailer, we see Zendaya’s Rue entangled in dangerous activities, working as a drug mule from Mexico to the U.S., only to be stopped and questioned by authorities. Jacob Elordi’s Nate has taken over his late father Cal’s (Eric Dane) construction business, but his personal life appears increasingly unstable. Meanwhile, his wife Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) has become a cam girl and is attempting to reconnect with her former friend and Nate’s ex, Maddy (Alexa Demie), now pursuing a career in Hollywood.
Other character moving forward include Lexi (Maude Apatow) is exploring her path as a writer while assisting a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, and Jules (Hunter Schafer) is attending art school, pursuing painting, and working as a sugar baby – including a reunion with Cal.
At a recent HBO Max event, creator Sam Levinson had given fans insight into the characters’ journeys post-high school: “Jules [Schafer] is in art school, very nervous about having a career as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs,” he shared. “Maddy [Demie] is working in Hollywood at a talent agency for a manager, she’s obviously got her own side hustles going. And Lexi [Apatow] is an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, who is just absolutely delightful and a true icon.”
Season 3 also welcomes new faces to the cast, including ROSALÍA, Danielle Deadwyler, Marshawn Lynch, Eli Roth, Natasha Lyonne, Trisha Paytas, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Toby Wallace, alongside numerous guest stars.
